Artificial Worm

One of the most effective baits for largemouth bass is the rubber worm. just because we are fly fisherman doesn't mean we can't take advantage of that. Rabbit strips make a great artificial worm with an added bonus of a more lifelike appearance.

I fish this fly on a 6 weight rod and it works great. I only use bunny leages when bass fishing. They work just as good as rubber ones.

It's a nice fly but it looks awfully heavy -- wrapped lead, cone head, wet rabbit. I would be tempted to try it on a spinning rod. What's the lightest fly rod/line you can throw that with, without having to lob it?

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
