Hej Thomas
Thanks for the nice words!
The reason why I use monofilament thread, I guess its just a habit from when I did not know how to make a small head. I must admit that it is more difficult when securing. But there are some good sides of using it. Smaller heads, its so thin you can fit it in between materials without it being visible and thereby fix them better, strong surface but I also use a normal thread. So like I started, its just a habit from here.
Good luck with the Raven NJ! I just made some small ones with a blue Sonic Disc on and they are pretty cool.

Nils
Hi Nils,
This is a nice fly which I will definitely try this season in the Norwegian rivers. I have used the Pro Tube system a lot myself during the last tying-season and I really like it.
Just a question, what is the reason for using Monofilament as tying thread? I have the experience that this can be quite slippery stuff but since you are using it what is the advantage and how are you securing the head in the end... are you using normal head cement or maybe super glue etc with the Mono?
Regards,
Thomas
Looks like you've created a niche masterwork. Like one of your featured fishers in the trailer said....people that don't fish don't get it.....maybe the film can help the fly fishing impaired.
My all time favorite way to catch trout. But the best way is by using 3 lb. Test and instead of using a swivel use Caroline Keepers (clear plastic crimp stops) and use the same main line attached to the fly. Only one knot. Get the smallest clear sliding bubble and fill just half with water. Pinch down the barb and you will do great.
This is a great site But all of the shows keep starting and stoping. No continus play.
What can I do to solve this problem. Thanks, Rusty.
Try the Cabelas Goretex. I have two, have fished Iceland and British Columbia in constant rain in them, and never had a leak. Just wish they had a pocket on the back for extra stuff. They do have the neoprene half-gloves that you don't like, but you don't have to usr them. And I think they work OK. Look at LL Bean wading jackets too. They have graet products and stand behind them.
a. markowitz,
There was an error in the file naming of the images. It's been corrected now, and all images should show as they are supposed to.

What an excellent idea! Plus, thanks for the tips on drawer knobs and wired ribbon! Excellent touch.
Not surprising to see that big peacock. This pattern is ideal for those. I'm going to feed it to our smaller peacocks in Florida.
Carlos, the photos do not appear on the Chinos page. Just blank boxes where the pix belong.
I like the idea of smaller Wolly Buggers, will get more hook set
Thanks Dennis Taylor
A nice article on a technique I wish to learn. Thank you for sharing it with us and for the traditionalists, this is only one method of many in fly fishing :)
Minnie Pearl got the idea for leaving the price tag on her hat when she accompanied a particularly stylish group of fly fishers on a tailwater fly fishing expedition in Arkansas.
Much of what's in print about the best fishing spots was written by or for the local chamber of commerce. Join a local fly-fishing club. It won't take long to discover who knows where the fish are and when and what they are hitting. My experience has been that these guys are usually willing to share their knowledge and often invite you to go fishing with them.
many years I used the 36620 hook from mustad, liked the look of the ringed eye
Oh what a naughty article but!
If I wear my ex Uk military sweater, a German green felt hat with wide brim, sunnies and rubber thigh waders I don't get arrested for creeping along river banks in a suspicious manner because of my snow white hair and shuffling gait, fly rod and antique landing net, capacious shoulder bag of food, drink and assorted tackle but I am assured of a free ride home from our friendly police force especially after dark. Who wants to be the best dressed idiot? Not I.
Sir: Is it possible to purchase the Shark's Wasp and Hopper w/foam?
Tony,
It certainly is for fun, and mocking the people who stand in the "picket line" as you so precisely call it. None of the above is a fact except for the "many people equals many fish", which is often true simply because more anglers catch more fish. Apart from that I would personally mostly do the exact opposite of what this article recommends.
Martin
I do hope that this is a tongue in cheek spoof 'cause if not I have wasted seventy years of prime angling time. However fishing the picket line is not my scene, spotting wild fish in wilderness places most definately is and through the years I guess I have done well and learned a little too. I'm a satisfied loner!
… I have a small favor to ask.
Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
