Wet flies

Hackle

Thanks for tuning in.

This is HC Cutcliffe's number 10 pattern. It is the only one with a thread body and a resemblance to the silk bodied flies of the North Country tradition but instead of a soft hackle it has a stiff hackle.

Hook: Partridge size 14 long shank Capt. Hamiton Bend
Thread: Claret silk
Body: Claret silk
Hackle: steely blue rooster hackle
