Blue Charm

This small simple feathewinged salmon fly is probably one of the most well-known salmon flies of the Simple Strip Wing family. Along with another classic, the March Brown, it was the favorite flies of the legend A. H. Wood, who is said to be the father of floating-line salmon fishing. And with 3,540 salmon caught between 1913 and his death in 1934 – most catches were on the Cairnton beat on the famous River Dee, his technique and skills has proven its worth. In this version, we have had our own salmon fly expert Håkan Karsnäser to tie his version of the Blue Charm, but with a wing of mottled turkey that is easier to handle and can withstand a little more time at the end of the leader.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
