A simple and good looking scud pattern from Charles Garwood

Hook12-16 scud hook
ThreadBlack
BodyLiteBrite blue
HeadMother of pearl bead

  1. Bend down the barb of the hook
  2. Pass the bead over the hook up to the eye and
  3. Secure it with varnish or super glue
  4. Tie in the thread behind the bead and biuld a small ball to hold the bead in place
  5. Wind the thread to the bend of the hook past the point above the barb
  6. Dub the thread with LiteBrite and form a tapered body with a small abdomen behind the bead
  7. Whip finish and varnish.
