Tied by: Darren MacEachern
Originated by: Darren MacEachern
Hook: Gaelic Supreme Mike Martinek #1 8xl streamer hook
Thread: Black flat waxed nylon
Tail: Peacock sword then a pair of jungle cock nails tied back to back in a vertical plane
Body: Black floss
Rib: Flat silver tinsel
Belly: Dark blue bucktail
Wing: Four black hackles
Shoulder: Peacock body feather
Eye: Jungle cock spear
Head: Peacock sword
Notes: Darren named the pattern after his son and an interesting children's book about a monster named Growl. He uses jungle cock spears which are found on some capes near the back of the cape. Spears, like the jungle cock nails, have a hard enamel with white to orange tones. They are particularly useful on streamers as they have a nice shape that mimics the flow of the wing.

Long story short
Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.
Long story longer
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
