Golden Pheasant wet fly popularized by Ray Bergman
Hook: Gaelic Supreme Mike Martinek 8xl #2
Thread: White 6/0
Tag: Silver flat tinsel
Tail: 2 slips of black duck quill sweeping up
Body: Orange floss
Rib: Silver flat tinsel
Throat: Orange schlappen
Wing: 2 black hackles flanked by slightly shorter orange hackle
Shoulder: Golden pheasant tippet
Eye: Jungle cock nail
Head: Black
Notes: The Golden Pheasant is a streamer conversion of one of the wet flies presented in Ray Bergman's 'Trout'. Dave keeps the original fly intact and achieves the conversion simply be tying the fly on a long shanked hook and adding a hackle wing to the lure. The orange hackle should be laid so that it is framed by the edges of the black hackle, giving a semblance of the golden pheasant tippet feathers.

Long story short
Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.
Long story longer
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
