Hello Davie I been watching most of your fly tying videos on you tube the are brilliant I've just been tying flies the last few months where do you get the razor foam from (bugs) or can I use an alternative
Thank you D Demetriou

Peter, Robert,

I don't know exactly what kind of foam Davie uses, but the supplier Rainy's Flies has many different types and refers to dealers, some of which sell online.

Hope this helps you both.

I also cannot find a foam for purchase anywhere (internet, etc) that is as pliable and stretcable as what you show in your video. The foam I have breaks before permanent deformation. Can you advise on a supplier? Many thanks in advance.

Hi Davie, I have been trying to tye your cricket pattern and have run into a snag. I cannot find a foam for purchase anywhere (internet, etc) that is as pliable or workable as what you show in your video. I have tried Wapsi thin and Wapsi razor (0.5mm and 1.0mm) with no success. The foam you used in your video appears to be open cell, coated on both sides (shines), and about 1.5mm or 2mm in thickness. Could you please check the thickness and manufacturer of the foam in the video and get back to me? It may not be available in the US. Thank you for your time and trouble.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
