Oceanside harbor is a great place to hang out, fun eateries and great coffee! However the beach is also a nice place to fish. And there are jetties and piers that you can fish here as well. The weather is pretty much always nice, since it is in southern CA, and pretty much everyone is nice. While there are a few wierdo's (I mean it is California), most of the people around this area are very kind people willing to give advice on how to fish, or where to eat. I met a guy that owned the "nautical bean" which is an awesome little coffee shop. He is a fly fisherman himself and fishes for marlin and tuna on the fly. Big game ocean fly fishing basically! He gave me a sample of some of his coffee and said that he will check out my channel. He gave me some advice on fishing which I plan on using on my next trip (since I didn't catch this trip). Hopefully I can get out when the tide is right next time.
