Foam Beetle

Twigg & Barry tie a simple foam beetle.
At different times on the year, depending on the elevation of the lake (or river) being fished, beetles will become prominent. On stillwaters, look for water with vegetation overhead, or in leeward bays as food will accumulate here on the surface.

This pattern is a simply take on proven beetle patterns. We've tied it an fished it before without the orange foam as a sighter. Don't try this - you'll never see it again! Tie the orange foam on, fish when there are beetles around, and enjoy watching your mates get skunked while you continue to catch fish...

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
