The Fontalis Fin is a classic American wet fly, presented in Ray Bergman’s book Trout. Easily recognized by its bright colored wings in orange, black and white. The fly is supposed to imitate the ventral fin on brook trout, tied for fishing for rookies. The married wing may cause some trouble to get it right, practise makes perfect. Remember to cut the different sections from the same side of the feather stem to make them stick together. And for the black and white, marry more fibres than you need and use a needle to split the section, leaving only one or two fibers in the wing.
