Glentana

From a beautiful book, Norwegian Erling Olsen's “Mine beste fluer” (My Best Flies). A lot of different materials and beautiful to tie! Silver tinsel for the tag, yellow floss, golden pheasant for the tail.
Embossed silver tinsel and oval silver tinsel for ribbing. Body with seal fur or substitute, orange, claret, red and dark claret. Body hackle is heron or body golden pheasant feather. Collar hackle is teal or widgeon and the wings, double bronze mallard.
I like to brush out the dubbing and therefore I tie the seals fur substitute a little loose.
Hope you enjoy the video :)

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
