Lady Caroline

The mighty River Spey in Scotland is proberbly one of the most iconic rivers, when we talk about salmonfishing and salmonflies. The big river with fast current calls for slim flies, and has created a style of classic salmon flies called spey-flies. The long heron-hackle and the low and wide wing of mostly Mallard is the keymarks of this style of flies, together with a body ribbed with several type of tinsel. These flies is much different and simple compared to the classic salmon flies like Jock Scott, Green Highlander, Durham Ranger etc., but speaking of classic and historical salmonflies the speyflies is as important as the classics. In this video we have teamed up with Håkan Karsnäser who with ease and magical fingers will tie one of the most iconic speyflies - The Lady Caroline - with a modern twist.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
