Fly fishing for trout and salmon is probably the most classic form of our beloved hobby, but our fresh waters contain a much wide range of other exciting species that are obvious to hunt with the flyrod. One of the more overlooked species is the carp, which can reach impressive sizes, is clever and strong and provides an exciting fight - is not without reason called the bonefish of freshwater. The skilled Danish fly fisherman and fly tyer Jesper Lindquist Andersen practices virtually all kinds of "specimen-flyfishing" and one of his favorite fish is the carp and related grass-carp, which he love to hunt during the summer. He prefers the visual flyfishing and has caught impressive fish on surface flies like this simple topwater fly he ties in this video.
