Mike Schmidt is a commercial fly tier currently based in Dublin, Ohio. Widely known as a "fish junky," Mike's true passion is streamer fishing, a love that translates directly into the patterns he creates. The Junk Yard Dog is lightweight and easy to fish, and when paired with a sink tip or full sinking line this streamer can be thrown a country mile. The wide head of the fly forces water to push around the fly and kicks the tail around, creating a lifelike motion even with little effort from the angler.
