Ke He Variation

Is there still room in modern fly boxes for the old tried and trusted patterns? Invented in the 1930s by Mr Kemp(KE) and Mr Heddle (HE), this was a fly for the lochs of the Isles of Orkney, off the northern coast of Scotland. Used for wild brown trout the fly was often lorded as the blank saver, it would catch fish when all other patterns failed.
I suppose when you look at it it has many of the same attributes as the much younger 'Cruncher'. I would certainly still tie this fly on my cast, would you? Let me know in the comments section below.
