Here we will be tying the fly Krókurinn by Gylfi Kristjánsson. Krókurinn has earned its place as probably the best fly ever made here in Iceland to fish Arctic char. It's by so many anglers the first choice and the GO-TO fly when people start the first casts. Krókurinn was made by Gylfi Kristjánsson, son og Kristján Gíslason. Both of them has become legendary in Icelandic fly fishing. Krókurinn is named by a fishing spot in Eyjafjarðará called Króksbreiða. The fly is a great when it comes to fish for Arctic char. Indeed one of Gylfi's top 5 flies, but Gylfi is an author of many great flies and is know for it in Iceland. This fly design combines simplicity and ability to catch a lot of fish! If I had to pick only one fly to fishing for the Arctic char, I guess Krókurinn would be my pick. Tight lines!
