Langskeggur Variant

No comments yet

Here we will be tying a slim variant of the nymph Langskeggur by Örn Hjálmarsson. This pattern is Icelandic and works great, both for the Arctic char and large brown trout. The fly is rather simple to tie and work great in still water. It's a favourite fly by anglers here in Iceland and a lust have in your box if going fishing for the Arctic char and brown trout. However this version of the Langskeggur is slightly different from the original one, since I use floss for the back instead of body stretch. I prefer to tie it in this size, that small, but the original Langskeggur is larger and tied on a longer shanked hook.

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
