McGinty Bucktail

This steelhead version of the classic McGinty wet fly was likely created sometime in the 1920s and was a popular pattern in the Pacific Northwest for a couple of decades before largely falling out of favor.

Hook: #4-10 salmon/steelhead
Thread: Black
Tail: Red hackle fibers
Body: Chenille, yellow/black/yellow
Hackle: Brown saddle
Wing: Squirrel tail
