Mouches Exquises - Gauloise Bleue
Mouches Exquises are double hackled flies that were first mentioned in a book by Doctor Juge named "Pecheur de Truites" from 1959. Doctor Juge was from Chamberet in the Corrèze. He mentions conceiving of the pattern in 1918.
Pequegnot makes a minor tweak by using a smaller hackle in the rear and a longer one at the head so the fly cocks back on the water keeping the tippet in a swan neck shape.
The hackles should have an orientation where they bend back from each other and this is achieved by having the shiny sides facing each other and the center of the shank.
Enjoy!

Long story longer
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
