Purple Soft Hackle

No comments yet

This Eric Stroup soft hackle fly pattern is an imitation for the Isonychia nymph. The fly is on the large side tied at a #8-14 size. I tie this using Laser Dubbing in the lavender and purple colors, but I implore you to use any gray to purple dubbing you may have.

I fish this fly as a dropper off of a dry fly through riffled waters and as a single fly in slower waters. ideally, it will sit just under the water surface and get hit hard by aggressively feeding trout.

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
