Here we will be tying the fly RÍN by my fishing partner, mr. Örvar Bessason. I've fished with Örvar now for few year and he's a great person. The RÍN fly is a great option for both stream and lake fishing. It reminds just as many other nymph patterns that are tied with same materials, to the Pheasant Tail nymph. However the build up in RÍN is a little different and even more simple. The fly catches both brown trout and arctic char. Simple to tie and totally worth keeping a few in your box when you go fishing. The story behind the name of the fly is from when Örvar was fishing with his friend in Víðidalsá at the opening here. No fish had been caught in difficult circumstances until Örvar's friend tried the fly and caught the first fish of the season in Víðidalsá in 2021. That friend of Örvar owns a musical instrument store in Reykjavík called RÍN - so Örvar named the fly after the store and rest is history.
