The Evil Weevil is a killer fly for trout and panfish. It's a fly I've been using for over a decade on the streams and rivers I fish and it's been an absolute killer fly pattern. There are quite a few variations of the fly, many coming from the creator of the nymph, Jeremy Davies. This variation replaces the biot legs with a set of rubber (silicone) legs, giving the fly a little more strike inducing movement.
I like to use a silicone strip from a bass skirt for my legs rather than a rubber material. I find that the rubber degrades rather quickly and will become brittle after some sun exposure or a season in the box.
