The simple sow bug is a quick pattern that has caught more fish for me than similar bugs with more steps. Its weighted slightly to get down and the color combo is spot on for my local river. The Sow Dub comes in a bunch of different colors so you could try different colors such as strictly tan, gray, silver and others.
Tying this exact bug up in larger hook sizes and adding the UV resin to the back instead of scud back will make this more of a scud imitation and the colors are available as well.
Tie some up and fish in your favorite waters where you find sow bugs.
