A great looking shrimp that looks complicated but is really easy. With lots of internal structure, just like a natural shrimp, this one looks complicated to tie. It’s not. The secret is the spiral of braid and wire used to make the skeleton on which the rest of the body is built. The braid is 30lb hollow braided monofilament fly line backing with black copper wire threaded through it. This in tied in and wound up the hook in an open spiral, followed by the material for the legs wound in the gap between the braid. Legs can be dubbing, organza, Fritz, marabou, or whatever you have. The fly is finished with a back of 3mm organza ribbon coated with UV-resin. The back and the braid go transparent where the resin penetrates, while the lower part retains visible structures.
