Learn to use rooster saddle hackle that is tapered in hook size from large at the base to small near the tip. This probably never happens to you but we often find hackle near the center of a rooster saddle that is very tapered in hooks sizes. We call this Christmas tree hackle. Here we share a couple of way to effectively use this type of feather.
