Here we will be tying a variant of Jóns Sigurðsson's famous fly, Veiðidís. Jón originally made the original Veiðidís fly in the late 80's but with a little different materials than this one is made out of. Originally the fly Veiðidís was suppose to be an improvement of Frank Sawyer's Pheasant Tail! Imagine that! But the original Veiðidís is actually a really great pattern that can stand under it's name being a good improvement to the fly fishing and fly tying world. This variant I'm tying in this video has been a great success fishing with it, both in lakes and rivers. It can be tied down to hook size #16 but I'm most fond of it in #12-14. It caught me a loads of fish during my years fishing and that's the reasons I want to share it with you guys out there. Veiðidís is a great option for both stream and lake fishing. The fly catches both brown trout, sea trout and arctic char. Veiðidís is simple to tie and your fly box deserves a couple of Veiðidís.
