A slightly odd looking fly, the worm fly is essentially 2 red tags tied together, and in fact the original pattern was a tandem hook fly. Despite its looks, it can be a very effective pattern on dark, blowy days and often produces better quality fish. The longshank version is just as effective but is more suited for catch and release fishing. Don't let the looks of this fly put you off, it's well worth putting in your loch box.
