I've heard that Orvis is discontinuing it's famed CFO series of reels. I've seen some being dumped by fly shops at less-than-ebay prices. What a shame. I've always been of the opinion that the CFO is the epitome of a trout reel. Nice look, smooth as silk, simple in design, and reliable. There has been some talk of a replacement. I dunno - it seems that some things do not need replacing. Maybe Orvis customers can save the tradtional CFO as they did the Superfine Series (back by popular demand, sort of thing).
If the CFO goes - what good click-and-pawl reels will remain other than Hardy?
