Where can I bye the silk worm gut for blind eye hooks
Hello Paul,
Thanks for the nice comment on the reels.
I am not using special O-rings, just a good quality from a tooling company in my own town.
The size is changing with the reel I design, so there are no special sizes, you must choose a diameter of the shaft in your design and then the diameter of the o-ring. Then you make sure that the O-rings protude only about 0.05 mm .
That is done when you make the grooves in the shaft. Buy the O-rings smaller in diameter then the shaft diameter.
Be carefull when making the grooves.
Best regards,
Tom Biesot.

Hello all;
John, thanks for your comment and addition of the English Ace of Spades. I was unaware of the pattern name at the time, and created my version independently.
Thanks to each of the rest of you for your comments and compliment! I appreciate it!
I have a need to perform some "touch dubbing", and I found this post. As a formulation chemist, I would approach making dubbing wax a little differently. But I don't have prior experience with "Wonder Wax" to guide me, but here goes. For the stickiness, I'd start with liquid pine tar...the kind baseball players use. You can get a few ounces for $4. The toilet wax seems fine, but I might recommend thinning it with mineral oil (any drug store). Mineral oil is liquid paraffin. But maybe olive oil is just fine. Proportions? Well, I'd mix the wax and mineral oil to get the right consistency first. Then I'd add the pine tar a little at a time until I got the right tackiness. I just may do this...
There's always south-east Jutland/Jylland.
There are some pretty fantastic areas from Kolding Fjord down to Hejlsminde, Anslet, and Genner Bugt.
I have fished almost the entire stretch, over many years and would pretty much say that as long as you can find a suitable stretch of water, you'll find sea trout.
Happy hunting.
hello, I like your article, I am also sea bass fisherman. I practice this technique in France in Normandy near Cherbourg with my boat.
Unfortunately, this is a fish Menasse overfishing in our waters.
hope to see you read

Hello Tom,
this is a great article, the reels are looking fabuleus, the O-ring bearing design is great, can you give me some more details about the O-rings specific types and sizes.
Kind regards,
Paul
You forgot the best chuck pattern of all - the usual. you can see the chuck vs. snowshoe fly in 'Wyoming or Bust' on the Wyoming Fishing network. I showed the chuck pattern to Fran and his eyes lit up.
Beautifully done, Darren! Great idea and pattern!
That was an awesome read and some great pictures with tons of information.
Thanks Joseph

Hello duke,
Thanks for the nice comment on the pattern, you said I have added your pattern to my book!. Have you written a book?. I am interested what kind of book you have written? Please let me know. And I think it is great to tie flies with your grandson and to fish with him.
Best regards,
Tom .
That is the beautiful fly.. yes, I´m tying and tied many even more of this fly pattern. I like your fly and very well done color tones... un saludo afectuoso para ti .
Thanks Armando. These are a fun style of fly to tie. It takes some practice, but once you have it down, they come pretty quick. The biggest challenge is finding the hooks.
Darren, that is a beautiful job! Love the colors.
… I have a small favor to ask.
Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
