the egotrip of modern fly fisherman changes the targets!!!!! the comercial new stuff and the madness of the fly fishing business in substitution of nice subtlety of baboo rods in small streams....a truly sorrow....

Heiko.

A typo or something I copied from somewhere with a typo... It's corrected. Beutetiere - prey animals or quarry in English. I need to refresh my German...

Danke!

Florian,

It looks like a 1/0 or 2/0 straight eye saltwater hook with a fairly light wire and it looks much like the classical Mustad 34007.

Martin that's a lovely description of everything I do wrong. I promise to correct ALL these errors, before smoothly and professionally casting the fly straight into the back of my head. If you can find a remedy for that newbie embarrassment please write another nice article...God knows I can't find the solution.

Regards

Newbie Mark

Beautiful work. I especially like your style of ribbing the flies with two materials. Very eye-catching, very unique. And thanks for the instructional narrative with each pattern. It's really generous to share your tips like that.

Excellent explanation on the use of Woodduck Flank Feathers. Since converting from salt water to fresh water fly tying, I've been somewhat amazed at the variety of feathers used to tie various patterns and how many different applications there are..
Thanks for the site, it's very helpful.

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
