An abundance of water

Fly Fishing New Zealand. A quick day trip into a lower North Island stream is met with initially high water conditions from overnight rain, quickly clearing to ideal conditions, not many fish sighted, but a couple of quality specimens thrown in for good measure.

If anyone can tell me what the odd Eel like creature is at 3:43, I'd be very grateful!

Packrafting back down is such a lovely and relaxing way to end the day with zero effort!

As far as I can see, this is a hair worm with Latin name being Gordius aquaticus(cf), living parasiticaly in insects. I don´t know an English name.

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
