An explosive evening
Forums:
Fly fishing - Fish Better
This evening was one of those days. For those that have experienced it - will know what I am talking about - For those that haven't - will think I'm jibbering on a bit... Sea trout everywhere. A kind of a feeding frenzy. So many sea trout lost, I lost count. 8 sea trout taken with the largest topping a 52cm. Wind in the face, cloudy water, easterly wind, small flies and casting a few metres from shore resulted in the best day this year. Phew. Just what dreams are made off! Ripley

New personal best for seatrout

Fly fishing - Fish Better
Hi all, last eastern I drove from Holland again to the Fyn area. I fished a copple of days in the Odense Fjord, using a sea kayak. What a great way to experience nature, the Fjord and the surrounding! And being mobile has its advantages! As you can see I caught this beauty of 74 cm. weighing 3,63 kilogram. I am very thankful to Keld Skytte Peterson from Bardeso, because he introduced me into the kayak stuff! One sad thing to say: I hate al those floating walls of multifilament standing in the water.

How to store my flylines?
Forums:
Fly fishing - Fish Better
Hi All, I would like to hear your ideas about how to store my flylines! I do not like to keep them on the reel. They do not stretch nicely after a while. I tried keeping them upon the original plastic spool, but the same problem appears. I tried different ways, but always end up with a hell of a mess. And it takes me about half an hour to get the line back upon the reel. Hope you understand my question; my English is rather poor.

Early Season Bass Fishin\'
Forums:
Fly fishing - Fish Better
I had a nice day of bass fishing when i came home (nothern wisconsin) this easter weekend.Went out fishing with my old man and we hooked into some nice bass. This time of year we weren't expecting to hook into anything.. Typically this time of year the bass are not verry active because the ice comes off the lakes about a week or two earlier, but I convinced a few bass to suck up my fly. I had to strip the fly verry slowly and let it sink for a while then strip again, as it sank is typically when i got a strike.

A pretty good first day on stillwaters this year.
Forums:
Fly fishing - Fish Better
I've had a pretty good first day out on Dragon Lake. The ice came off on Thursday, but today was the first chance I've had to get out. Weather was bad and then that damn inconvenience called work got in the way. Today however I arrived at the lake about 6:30 am, it was cold, around -2 *C, but nothing warm cloths couldn't fix. So, I rowed out in my new pontoon boat and anchored up in one of my favorite spots. I had heard that red chronomids were working so that was my first offering.

Ice will be off the lakes any day
Forums:
Fly fishing - Fish Better
Well, the ice should be off the lakes here any day now. Most of the lakes I've taken a look at in the last few days are either getting a little open water around the edges or the ice has turned black and should be breaking up soon. Can't wait, just bought a new pontoon boat and my spring favorite, Dragon Lake, is calling my name. Looking forward to catching a few more raindows like this: :)

Braided Leaders
Forums:
Fly fishing - Fish Better
Hi, Two days ago I found at GFF an article about making braided leaders. Once I felt all that knowledge pulsating inside my brain, I built the wood board, and started making my first "Furled Leader"... After 24 hours of precise hand work, I'm proud to share with you my success!! P.S. I'm writing a totorial, but, in the meanwhile, if someone needs advice, please tell me!

Hi Tyers! I can't find anywhere (On-line) something called "Japanese nymph legs". Do you know where can I buy it? Or better, with what else can I substitute those japanese legs? I'm thinking on hair brush fibers, but I haven't seen any chartreuse or red brush at the supermarket... Thanks,
