This is the compilation of my 2010 fly fishing season in the surf zone around NYC. Locations covered the Hudson River and Long Island Sound in the spring and the south shore beaches of Long Island in the Fall.

Fly fishing the beach can be tough

Fly fishing in saltwater can be feast or famine. Its very difficult (at least for me) to consistently find fish.

After The Man

It’s been 13 years since Running Down The Man came out in 2006. After over a decade, fly fishing for Roosterfish from the beach has held its challenging allure for anglers in Baja.

The pike that stared

This was one of those fish that staid glued to my inner eye for a long time. The largest pike I ever caught gave up a very good and pretty harrowing fight.

I'm not picky when it comes to fishing and any day I can catch 12-15 fish is a good day - even when the fish are humble roach.

Ken Hanley has done it again - and beat himself at it: made a book about the less traditional fly fishing in the salt. Compared to his previous Fly Fishing Afoot in the Surf Zone, this book has a lot more volume and a lot more content.
