Amy's Ant
The Amy’s Ant is a high floating, high visibility foam dry fly that works very well. I find it to be one of the prettier of the foam flies. It’s made to look like a stonefly, but will work very well as a large hopper. This is one of the better patterns I’ve used as the hopper dropper style. There are not very many nymphs that can sink this, and it even can hold up some streamers quite well also. It looks to me to be loosely based off of the Chernobyl ant pattern, which is fished very similarity. The Amy’s ant however does look bettet in my opinion, but it is a bit more difficult to tie. Once you get the hang of it though, it’s not all that hard, but does take a while since there are lots of steps.

Long story longer
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
