Always a pleasure to tie Spey flies. The bronze mallard for the wings is a fantastic feather to work with. Tinsel, silk, guinea feather and heron hackle are the other materials.

Hackle and peacock are to beautiful materials to work with . To have an compact and tidy hackle you need to clean the one side of the feather before tying.

Small spey flies are just a pleasure to tie. This one is inspired by the book “Mine beste fluer” (My Best Flies) written by the Norwegian author Erling Olsen.
