Kate McLaren Muddler
Muddlers are my favorite flies to fish with in windy situations. Golden tippet for the tail, dubbing, tinsel and deer hair. I tie on strong wet fly hook.
Grey Heron (var)
Always a pleasure to tie Spey flies. The bronze mallard for the wings is a fantastic feather to work with. Tinsel, silk, guinea feather and heron hackle are the other materials.
Winged soft hackle wet fly
A basic winged wet fly technique for all different types of wet flies. The wings are tied with mallard quills wing feathers. Every winged wet fly is a challenge but always a pleasure to tie.
