Brad's Rogue Sculpin
The search and dream of big trouts, is allways on mind of every flytyer and flyfisher. Often we dream of big trouts delicately sipping dryflies on the surface, but a much easier way of getting in contact with a big trout is by using big “baits”. And the fly in this video must be called a big bait!

Kelly Green
Here we will be tying the streamer Kelly Green by mr. Olgeir Andrésson, professional photographer. Olgeir or Olli is a friend of mine who fished with another friend of mine, my mentor mr. Jón Sigurðsson. Both great people. Kelly Green the streamer has gone viral the last years here in Iceland and it's best know for it's ability to deliver great catch when you are fishing in the highlands.

Kobberbassen, Copper Bully
Here we will be tying the fly Kobberbassen originally from Denmark but has spread around a lot the last years and become a very successful pattern for seatrout mostly. Bronze or copper flies have been getting more and more popular all around for the sakes that they catch often a lot of fish. Even I myself have my Copper Oranje copper fly and that's a fantastic fly pattern that works great.

Olive Woolly Bugger
Here we will be tying a classic Olive Woolly Bugger. The fly is a great option for both stream and lake fishing and excellent when it comes to fishing for brown trout. There it delivers a lot of fish. The Olive version of this fly catches both brown trout, arctic char and even salmon. I'd say it's quite simple to tie and totally worth keeping a few in your box when you go fishing.

Fur and hair from skin patches
Today it's about fur and hair from skin patches. Most small rodents, weasels, foxes, deer and many other animals have useable hair for fly tying. While most of us probably best knows the obvious candidates like deer hair, bucktail and squirrel tail, there is hundreds of other useful furs.

Here we will be tying the original version of the Peacock by mr. Kolbeinn Grímsson. This video is made after a request from someone who wanted to see the Peacock tied exactly like the author did. Here we will be tying the fly Blacknose Dace, created by Art Flick. The fly is first mentioned in his 1947 "Streamside Guide to Naturals and their Imitations". The Blacknose Dace is one of the most popular and effective streamers there are out there. It's an excellent option for trout and seatrout fishing. I've fished it a little bit here in Iceland and with good results.

Watsons Zebra
Here we will be tying a hybrid of two flies, the Watson's Fancy as a nymph, and the famous Zebra Midge. I (and probably some other fly tiers before me) came up with this pattern few years ago. I decided to try to mix these colours together since they work excellent for the Arctic char here in Iceland. And BINGO! This fly works great when the fish is picky.

Lefty's Deceiver is a simple fly that is absolutely deadly for predatory gamefish. It's a durable, easy tie that's made from few, readily available materials and has been catching fish for decades. It's at least as effective as a great many more modern, more complex baitfish patterns.. probably more so. You definitely want to have these in you box!
