Head Stand Evening Star

Inspired by the late Jack Gartside (1942-2009) pattern the "Evening Star", a variation he tied of his famous fly the "Sparrow". For more info http://www.jackgartside.com/step_gartside_sparrow.htm

I tied this to sight fish for spooky Carp late season in low, clear water with a very rocky bottom. I used the smallest bead and chain eyes I could to minimize splash down, but still guarantee the fly would settle hook point up. Size the hook, chain eyes and bead to fit your needs.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
