Ally's Shrimp Tube

We once again had the pleasure of having our friend Casper Hansen behind the vise to demonstrate his bid on one of the most classic shrimp patterns. the Ally´s Shrimp is originally by Scottish flytyer Ally Gowans – but this time in Casper ties it in a modern tube version. Casper says about the fly himself “For many years I thought that the Ally Shrimp was a little difficult to tie in a nice version on a tube – I really like it on hooks, on treble hooks and double hooks and fish it a lot. But for some occations I wanted a tubefly that’s heavier that I can fish very deep. Then I tried to convert it to a modern version with some new features but still with a lot of respect to the original pattern.”

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
