During the winter here in Texas, fly fishing can be tough. However that doesn't mean you can't catch a few nice fish.

Bass, Sunfish, Carp, Catfish all are mainly warm water fish. The Medina is a warm water fishery but a cold front moved in. This dropped the temps and definitely slowed down the fishing.

We do a lot of coastal flyfishing for sea run browns here in Scandinavia during the winter. It can be challenging and very cold but the reward is worth it all!

Another fall has come and gone and this year i was finally able to really spend some good time swinging flies for the fall run.

Tying a great shrimp/scud pattern for autumn and winter.. A simple but very effective pattern tied using a Get-Slotted jig off glass bead, dubbing and a strip of organza ribbon.

In this tutorial, we tie a simple easy to tie, Pro Gammarus fly or Scud for use in the cold period of the year.

This is a very Successful Pattern in the Winter
